Monday, July 16, 2018
Jessica Welch, director of operations, Greater Irvine Chamber, this month completed the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute for Organization Management (IOM), the professional development program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation. This earns Welch a professional distinction – indicated by the designatory letters “IOM” – which is highly respected throughout the chamber and association industries.
“Through the U.S. Chamber’s Institute program, I’ve had the privilege of building relationships with nonprofit professionals from across the country,” said Welch. “The program delivers top-notch instruction to elevate professional standards, as well as valuable resources for today’s chamber of commerce executives.”
The program educates nonprofit management professionals on how to enhance individual performance, while recognizing association, chamber of commerce, and other nonprofit professionals who demonstrate the knowledge essential to the practice of nonprofit management.
Course curriculum is taught by university professors, industry experts, and leading practitioners in the chamber and association industries. A wide range of topics is covered, such as advocacy, media training, membership, finance, legal issues, human resources, and more. IOM educates participants on all facets of running a nonprofit organization.
