Wendy Haase Promoted to Senior Director of Destination Irvine

Wendy Haase has been promoted to Senior Director for Destination Irvine. In this new role, Haase becomes the de facto executive director of this high-performing destination sales and marketing division of the Greater Irvine Chamber. She will oversee and manage the corporate sports and association sales team and initiatives, as well as all meeting and leisure marketing strategies. She previously served as Director of Tourism Marketing for the organization.

“Wendy has earned this opportunity to lead Irvine’s destination marketing organization,” said Linda DiMario, Greater Irvine Chamber’s executive vice president. “She has continually demonstrated a great commitment to raising the profile of Irvine as a destination, producing results that have helped grow this organization’s concrete contributions to Irvine’s destination performance and economic vitality.”

Haase has more than 19 years of travel and tourism industry focused public relations and marketing experience. She began her career with Visit Milwaukee where for nearly seven years she collaborated on events such as, the Harley-Davidson 100th Anniversary and the Major League Baseball All-Star Game. Her career path led her to California where she has represented Sonoma County and Huntington Beach, in addition to the luxurious Terranea Resort in Palos Verdes.  

As the Director of Tourism Marketing for Destination Irvine since 2010, she has successfully generated tremendous brand awareness through marketing and public relations campaigns and collaborative initiatives with the Orange County Visitors Association.  

“Working with Destination Irvine for the past eight years has given me the opportunity to learn from some of the finest leaders,” said Haase. “I am excited to take on this new leadership role and apply what I have experienced and help take our organization to the next level.”

Haase earned her Certified Destination Marketing Executive certification with Destination Marketing Association International in 2014 and currently serves on the CalTravel board of directors.
