OC STEAM Fest Raises Over $113,000 for Irvine Schools

Greater Irvine Chambermember Irvine Public Schools Foundation (IPSF) hosted more than 5,000 community members at its OC STEAM Fest, presented by EON Reality, at the Orange County Great Park on April 28. More than 50 booth sponsors provided children of all ages with fun, hands-on activities in an interactive atmosphere to spark their interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM).

This year’s activities included activities by Greater Irvine Chamber Leaders Circlemembers Cox Communications, UCI, andWaste Management.

In addition, the crowd enjoyed live entertainment from IPSF’s Afterschool Enrichment Musical Program, Air Liquide’s Shape of Water demonstration, and IUSD Middle School’s Robotics Competition refereed by John Remar of Discovery Channel’s BattleBots. 


“The OC STEAM Fest provides students with a fun and educational opportunity to explore interests and discover the many different kinds of STEAM-related career opportunities that are available to them,” said Neda Eaton, president and CEO of Irvine Public Schools Foundation. “Over the past 21 years, IPSF has proudly contributed over $68 million in programs and funds to support education in Irvine, and it’s been so much fun to bring the community together with our partners and celebrate educational excellence for all children in Orange County.”

IPSF’s mission is to enrich the educational experience of each child in every school by providing programs, raising funds, and uniting the community in support of educational excellence. The event raised over $113,000 to benefit Irvine Unified School District, a member of the Greater Irvine Chamber.
