For Mary Neil, owner of Caliber Signs, the writing was on the wall when it came to setting up shop in Irvine, as well as what to do to help her business thrive: Join the Greater Irvine Chamber of Commerce.

“The Chamber brings an added level of credibility to my businesses,” she said.

Caliber Signs, established in 2009, specializes in commercial signage and large-format printing, including vehicle- and wall-wrap products. Licensed by the Contractors California State License Board, Caliber Signs is authorized to produce and install exterior signage, which requires special permitting.

To help her business grow, Neil sought to be an active Chamber member.

She joined the first-ever Leads Group in 2010 and soon after became an Ambassador, chairing the committee for two years and earning the title of 2014-15 Ambassador of the Year. She served on the Chamber’s Women of Influence conference committee all four years of its history and as its chair in 2016.

Additionally, attending meetings of various Chamber committees has helped Neil to “get the big picture of the Chamber’s initiatives and accomplishments.”

“As an Ambassador, attending the Economic Vitality Council meetings gives me an insightful overview of all the work the task forces under the EVC are engaged in,” Neil noted. “Being involved in the Chamber’s programs helps to keep me informed about the business landscape in the Irvine area; what other businesses are doing, new businesses activity, and the economics of the city.”

She is a regular attendee at Chamber signature and networking events, frequently hosting sponsored booths, and the Chamber’s training and personal development workshops.

“Taking the time to attend Chamber events brings value to my membership and to my business,” Neil said. “Being an active member of the Greater Irvine Chamber provides exposure to Caliber Signs in the business community and to potential customers and clients. Networking and being involved with people at this professional level allows Caliber Signs to remain top-of-mind when people need signage or know others who do.”

Through her involvement, Neil has benefitted from value of involvement as well as contributed to the Chamber and the health of the overall business community.

Congratulations, Mary Neil!
