Monday, June 26, 2017
The Greater Irvine Chamber joined the OC Hispanic Chamber and area businesses in welcoming Mike Vallante as the new Region IX Administrator of the Small Business Administration (SBA), which covers California, Nevada, Arizona, Hawaii and Guam.
A former small business owner, Vallante has extensive experience in communications and public relations; his company provided consulting and strategic communications services for small businesses and non-profits around the country.
“Mike is an experienced leader, skilled communicator, and as a former entrepreneur, understands the challenge of starting and scaling a company,” SBA Administrator Linda McMahon said. “He will be a strong voice for small business owners, and I look forward to working with him to help more entrepreneurs in Region IX.”
As Region IX Administrator, Vallante will oversee SBA programs, offices and operations in California and throughout the territory.
“Mike’s experience and familiarity with California is an asset and will expand our work with the very capable team at the local SBA office”, said Linda DiMario, vice president, Economic Development & Tourism, Greater Irvine Chamber. “This year, at least two dozen companies have contacted the Chamber for assistance with capital and resources. The SBA always answered our call and helped those companies navigate the process.”
The Greater Irvine Chamber partners with the SBA, offering Chamber members resources such as professional training and counselling.
A Rhode Island native, Vallante is a graduate of Providence College and moved to Southern California in 1999. He lives in Pasadena with his wife Julie and their four rescue dogs, and he is passionate about animal rescue.
