Celebrate Irvine Highlights City, Chamber, and Business Success

A record crowd of 400 guests was treated to an engaging and informative program during Celebrate Irvine, the Greater Irvine Chamber’s annual luncheon recognizing outstanding achievements in the business community held at the Irvine Marriott on June 22.
Businesses in Irvine were formally presented awards by 2016 recipients for community service, volunteerism, and the best traditions of good corporate citizenship:
- Business of the Year -CTC Global Corporation, represented by Marve Sepe, COO; award presented by Mike Drennen, director of Sales, Cox Business.
- Nonprofit of the Year - Working Wardrobes, represented by Jerri Rosen, CEO & founder; award presented by Kate Klimow, associate vice chancellor of Strategic Communications & Public Affairs, University of California, Irvine.
- Business Philanthropist of the Year - MacKenzie Corporation, represented by Jenny Dinnen, president of Sales & Marketing; award presented by Chamicka Pollock, vice president and Saddleback Hills District manager, Wells Fargo.
Irvine Mayor Donald P. Wagner provided an update of the city, and Greater Irvine Chamber President & CEO Bryan Starr provided an update on the Chamber’s accomplishments and initiatives.
“The Chamber and the City partner on many fronts to ensure Irvine’s economy stays strong and continues to grow. We are proud to celebrate that and all the accomplishments being made in our community,” Starr said.
Also giving a brief presentation was Jonathan Reed, academic vice president and provost of University of La Verne, a presenting sponsor for the event for seven consecutive years.
The event also included a VIP reception, providing guests with an opportunity to shake hands with local elected officials and sample foods from Orange County’s finest restaurants.
