Monday, June 05, 2017
The second installment of the Greater Irvine Chamber’s (GICC) Government Affairs Committee 2017 Summer Housing Series on June 1 featured guest speakers Pat Whitaker, CEO of Innovative Housing Opportunities; Julia Bidwell, Orange County director of Housing & Community Development & Homeless Prevention; and John Hambuch, manager of Orange County Housing Authority. They discussed affordable housing in Orange County, the process in which housing is developed, and what resources are made available to those who may not be able to afford housing at market rate.
The July 6 session will feature Mark Asturias, executive director of the Irvine Community Land Trust. Asturias will focus his discussion on the operation of the Trust and how it helps provide housing to low- and moderate-income families, enabling them to become homeowners.
