Friday, April 15, 2022
Irvine-based electric vehicle maker Rivian Automotive Inc. announced Anisa Kamadoli Costa as its first chief sustainability officer, effective April 18.
Kamadoli will lead Rivian’s ‘Forever’ foundation and oversee the company’s sustainability roadmap for both its products and the business with a focus on climate and environment. This includes supervising the accounting of Rivian’s sustainability metrics across all operations and apply data to companywide decisions.
The automaker, with a valuation around $37 billion, said it has committed to carbon neutrality in its operations by 2028. The Forever foundation is dedicated to high-impact climate initiatives, such as preserving and restoring wildlands, waterways and oceans.
A graduate from Columbia University and Harvard’s Business School, Kamadoli previously held the roles of chief sustainability officer at Tiffany & Co. and president of the Tiffany & Co. Foundation. For almost 20 years, she developed and carried out Tiffany’s environmental, social and governance agenda while also keeping its philanthropy’s efforts in line with priorities of ocean and land conservation.
“Across the organization, she will help us integrate environmental and social impact into our decisions. The sustainability strategies we set today will have lasting influence on our company and our world, and Anisa's mindset positions her extremely well to lead and drive these critical activities,” CEO RJ Scaringe said in a statement.
