Amanda Hughes, community relations manager for strategic communications and public affairs at University California, Irvine, has been nominated for the American Heart Association’s 2021 Orange County Woman of Impactaward as part of the nonprofit’s Go Red for Women campaign.

Nominees bring together a network of individuals to form an impact team, set a goal, raise funds, and directly impact the community.

Following the culmination of this year’s Feb. 5 – Apr. 7 campaign, the nominees will be celebrated for their overall impact on the American Heart Association’s mission and the community. The woman who brings her network together to have the largest impact through the campaign will be named the 2021 Orange County Woman of Impact during a virtual May 20 event.

Hughes brought together a network of friends, family, and colleagues that raised just over $14,500 during the campaign.

Hughes was recognized as a 2020 outstanding Orange County professional under the age of 40 by the Greater Irvine Chamber through its 40-Under-40 awards program.

UCI is a platinum-level Leaders Circle partner of the Greater Irvine Chamber.
