Sol Mexican Cocina will take the place of El Torito Grill in Irvine at Centerview located at 1910 Main St. in Irvine.
Undergoing a multimillion-dollar renovation, the new restaurant will occupy 11,277 square feet, including a 2,861 square foot patio, and is slated to open in the fall.
The new Sol’s menu and pricing will be similar to its Newport location with signature dishes such as Taco Vampiro ($10) on a double tortilla with cheese, serrano chilies, carne asada, guacamole, pico de gallo, chipotle sauce and cotija cheese, and Wild Fish on Esquites ($43) with almond-lemon crust, grilled corn esquites, tomato, basil, lime, avocado butter, and cotija cheese. Sol is well known for its tequila cocktails including its house margarita ($13) with fresh citrus juices, agave nectar, and tequila, and agave spirit-based drinks like The Mezcalero, a concoction of mezcal shaken with passion fruit, guava, and lime juice served in a chili salt-rimmed glass.
Dun Huang, an addition of a New York-based restaurant chain focused on northwestern-style Chinese food, has opened at the Diamond Jamboree center, located at 2710 Alton Pkwy. in Irvine. Check out the Dun Huang menu here.
Located at 4533 Campus Dr., Irvine, CA 92612, the restaurant is the third location in Sgt. Pepperoni’s growing portfolio.
The Irvine location will feature Sgt. Pepperoni’s full menu, plus a rotation of season specials and Irvine exclusives. Known for its gourmet, hand-crafted pizza, Sgt. Pepperoni’s makes the pizza dough and sauce daily using the freshest, highest quality ingredients. The new restaurant boasts a 2,500 square foot dining room and large patio with a hip and modern fast-casual ambiance and subtle design accents paying homage to The Beatles.
Pep's Place offers soft drink meals in Irvine, Redlands, and Rancho Cucamonga through third-party services such as Door Dash, Grubhub, and Uber Eats.
Main dishes include burgers, chicken wings, kayjan chicken sandwiches, ribs, and chicken Caesar salad, and prices range from $ 11 to $ 14.50.

Popular night spots Bosscat Kitchen & Libations and the adjacent Ten Asian Bistro — rebranding as Ten Sushi + Cocktail Bar — are moving from Newport Beach to Lakeshore, at 18191 Von Karman Ave., in Irvine.
Bosscat will be a 5,000 square-foot “modern whiskey-focused eatery” with a 1,200-square foot patio. Ten will be a 2,800-square foot sushi restaurant with an 850-square foot patio. Bosscat Kitchen will have seating for more than 160 diners, including a central bar, Ten will seat about 110 and will include sushi bar seating.
Adya, a fast-casual eatery with a menu of modern Indian street food, is opening a second location at the Irvine Co.-owned center, Irvine - University Center, 4213 Campus Dr. The flagship Adya location opened in 2014 at the popular Anaheim Packing House food hall.
