Tuesday, May 04, 2021
For the seventh year, the Greater Irvine Chamber will award John Colvin Memorial Scholarships to selected students who have been accepted to or are enrolled in a four-year degree program at an accredited university or college in Southern California. Eligible students must have a 3.0 GPA or higher, a demonstrated commitment to a fitness lifestyle, and an objective of contributing to the health and economic vitality of Irvine and California.
Applications are being accepted now through Friday, September 17, 5:00 p.m.
The Greater Irvine Chamber established the scholarship in coordination with the Colvin family to honor long-time Orange County resident John Greg Colvin. Colvin was an active member of the Greater Irvine Chamber, including serving a term as chair of the organization’s Business Attraction and Retention Committee. He died in 2014 while training for an Ironman Triathlon.
The scholarship program is one of the Chamber’s workforce development initiatives.
