Irvine-based Parker Aerospace, and Parker Foundation recently presented a grant to a local women's shelter, continuing its longstanding commitment to the local community health.
The $10,000 check was presented to WISEPlace by Parker Aerospace’s Group Vice President of Program and Contract Management Barry Draskovich. The Parker Foundation is a bronze sponsor partner with the organization.
“The critical work of leading nonprofits in Orange County is essential to creating a brighter, healthier, and stronger community. WISEPlace is an example of how one organization can make a difference in the lives of neighbors in need,” said Draskovich.
“Our goal is to provide women hope, a safe place to live, counseling, and employment assistance to guide them on a path to independent living,” said WISEPlace CEO Brateil Aghasi. “The continuous and longtime support of Parker powers our mission of helping women rebuild their lives one step at a time. Our services are more important today than ever with the increased vulnerability brought on by the pandemic.”
WISEPlace has been a fixture in the community for more than 90 years. In the past year, WISEPlace has provided over 64,000 meals and housing for about 300 homeless women. WISEPlace offers a range of housing options, along with wrap-around services like counseling and employment support.
