Linda DiMario, Jessica Welch Nominated for OC Business Journal’s Women in Business Awards

Greater Irvine Chamber Executive Vice President Linda DiMario, and Vice President of Operations Jessica Welch, have been nominated for the Orange County Business Journal’s Women in Business Awards.
The Women in Business Awards program honors five exceptional business and professional Orange County women. Nominees will be featured in the Women in Business Special Report, publishing August 10.
Following more than four years in senior leadership roles at the Greater Irvine Chamber, DiMario was named executive vice president in 2017, overseeing the Chamber’s economic development, tourism, and hotel and sports marketing divisions. She leads the Chamber’s Economic Vitality Council, and its International Development and Business and Workforce Development committees.
DiMario has made a significant impact on the economic vitality of Irvine, having led successful foreign direct investment delegations, including missions to the U.K., attracting foreign companies to explore business and export opportunities in Irvine. She launched the annual Orange County World Trade Week Forum in 2015. The event attracts hundreds of attendees and respected speakers and panelists from around the world. She launched several award-winning Chamber programs including the Business Outreach Rally, introducing more than 2,500 Irvine businesses to business resources available to them through the Chamber; Financial Forum, teaching financial literacy to Irvine middle school students; and Career Edge, a soft-skills program for Irvine high-school and college students. All of these programs have been successfully adapted to virtual formats to accommodate social distancing mandates.
DiMario is a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Rising to be a top executive at the Greater Irvine Chamber, Welch has been instrumental in leading the organization to numerous accomplishments, including earning a Five-Star Accreditation by the United States Chamber of Commerce. She was recognized as a 2018 Woman to Watch by the California Women’s Leadership Association. She is a graduate of Leadership Tomorrow Orange County and the U.S. Chamber’s West Institute for Organization Management.
Welch serves on the board of directors for the Western Association of Chamber Executives (W.A.C.E.), as well as its Foundation and Academy Steering Committee. She is a graduate of its three-year chamber management Academy, and was the recipient of its 2018 Gerald W. Hathaway Staff Person of the Year Award. Welch is a regular speaker at W.A.C.E. annual conferences.
Additionally, Welch was a recipient of the 2019 Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives 40 under 40 award, whic recognizes the top young professionals in the chamber of commerce industry who have demonstrated success in their careers and made significant contributions in the communities they represent.
Welch has shaped many popular Orange County events, including the Chamber’s economic forecast, Business Outlook, Women of Influence, 40-Under-40, and Celebrate Resilience, which has been newly reimaged as a virtual program on Oct. 22, to recognize community heroes who have made contributions to support others during the COVID-19 crisis.
The Women in Business Award recipients will be formally recognized during a digital presentation on Monday, Oct. 28 at 2 p.m. Registration is required for this free virtual event.
