OmniPrint International Inc., a print technology company specializing in designing and manufacturing direct-to-garment (DTG) printers and accessories, has pivoted in response to the Coronavirus crisis.

The COVID-19 pandemic started as OmniPrint was experiencing growth in hiring more staff, making more products, and moving the company to its new headquarters in Irvine—a building six times larger than they previously occupied. But with the decline of sales by 80% just two weeks into the pandemic, OmniPrint owners felt compelled to redirect their manufacturing efforts to make products that were needed by the community.

“We are blessed to have the facility, staff, and machinery to be able to refocus our facility to start making masks for the general public as well as for our direct-to-garment machine owners and entrepreneurs to keep them printing; whether they are printing on shirts or masks to keep their businesses going as well,” said Victor Pena, president, and CEO, OmniPrint International.

OmniPrint Staff photoOmniPrint has also shifted to manufacture surface sanitizer products—and Pena and his wife Tania, who co-manages the business, have suspended their salaries for the remainder of 2020—to keep as many of the company’s employees as possible.

“Our goal is still to continue to help our community, DTG machine business owners, and support our star team of employees and their families, while doing everything in our hands for a better tomorrow,” Pena said.
