The Destination Irvine sales team, along with 27 Irvine hoteliers from 12 properties, provided a strong presence for the city at the 10th annual State of the Industry conference hosted by Meeting Professionals International Orange County Chapter (MPIOC), on Jan. 16.
The annual event brings together nearly 200 Orange County tourism professionals, providing them with insights into upcoming trends and challenges in the industry.
“Knowing what our area offers is absolutely important as we face strong competition. We all win when we can position Southern California, and Orange County, as a premier destination,” said AnaLaura Becerra, director of corporate sales, Destination Irvine. Becerra serves on the MPIOC board of directors as the director of member recruitment where she helps advance the organization’s growth and influence within the industry.
Conference attendees, including the Irvine group, were briefed on the latest potential disruptions within the travel and tourism industry including the 2020 Presidential Election, forecasted economic trends, and a growing consumer focus on personal health and wellness, by keynote Michael Dominguez, president and CEO, Associated Luxury Hotels International.
