Kate Klimow Returns as 2020 Business Outlook Master of Ceremonies

Kate Klimow, chief administrative officer and director of External Relations at UCI Beall Applied Innovation, will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the Greater Irvine Chamber’s 11th annual 2020 Business Outlook breakfast event to be held on Thursday, Jan. 9.  The economic-forecast event is one of the largest of its kind in Orange County, drawing hundreds of professionals, executives, and community leaders from throughout the region.

Klimow has experience working in both public and private sectors throughout her career. Her varied experience in government relations and public affairs includes working for the Arizona Department of Commerce, Parsons Corporation, Walt Disney Imagineering, Disneyland Resort, KB Home, California Apartment Association, and the Orange County Business Council.

Klimow is the immediate past chair of the Greater Irvine Chamber Board, and has served the organization in several capacities since 2012, including on its Board Executive Committee and as chair of the Government Affairs Committee, and Programs Committee where she helped to establish the successful Women of Influence event.

She was also a delegate for the Chamber-led foreign direct investment missions, traveling to the U.K. in 2017, 2018, and 2019. She has partnered on Chamber career readiness programs, including the award-winning Career Edge soft skills workshops for students enrolled in any of Irvine’s colleges or universities.

Klimow has been honored as the 74th Assembly District Woman of the Year 2016, was included on a past OC Metro’s20 Women to Watch list, and was a nominee for the Orange County Business Journal’s Women in Business Awards.

For the second year, Chris Thornberg, founding partner of Beacon Economics, and a highly-regarded economist, author, and public speaker, will deliver the keynote address. Also returning to the Business Outlook stage is Chris Schwarz, associate professor of finance and faculty director of the Center for Investment and Wealth Management at the Paul Merage School of Business at University of California, Irvine, who will open the program.

The 11th annual Business Outlook will be held 7:30 – 10 a.m., at the Hotel Irvine, 17900 Jamboree Rd. Attendees will have the opportunity to gain insights on economic trends and network with C-suite executives.

The Greater Irvine Chamber’s 2020 Business Outlook is presented by MemorialCare in partnership with the Paul Merage School of Business at University of California, Irvine, and draws more than 800 business and community leaders annually.
