Parker Aerospace, Parker Foundation Support WISEPlace Local Women's Shelter with $5,000 Contribution

As part of Parker’s ongoing commitment to the support of the community and key nonprofit organizations making a difference, Parker Aerospace Group Vice President of Program and Contract Management Barry Draskovich presented local women’s shelter WISEPlace with a $5,000 grant from the Parker Foundation, as a bronze sponsor partner with the organization.

WISEPlace, located in Santa Ana, is dedicated to meeting the needs of unaccompanied homeless women, “providing them with hope, community, and a safe place to begin the hard work of getting back on their feet," according to Executive Director Brateil Aghasi. In addition to broad-based counseling programs, the center provides a range of housing options, including emergency housing, transitional housing, and bridge housing for up to 24 months. The only program of its kind in Orange County, WISEPlace has been helping homeless women for over 31 years.

In the past year, WISEplace provided 85,600 meals for homeless women, as well as 28,500 safe night's sleep and with safe shelter and other services to over 300.

“Parker's amazing support is part of how we do what we do to help these women rebuild their lives," noted WISEplace Development Manager Elizabeth Hendershot.

“We at Parker Aerospace recognize the important work being done by WISEplace and other such worthy nonprofit organizations in our community,” Draskovich said. “It is our honor to partner with WISEplace and provide support.”

Parker Aerospace engagement in the local community not only through its financial contributions to organizations like WISEPlace, but also in its participation as a Leaders Circle gold-level sponsor of the Greater Irvine Chamber, where Draskovich is an active member of the Board of Directors and the Financial Affairs Committee.
