Chris Schwarz of UCI’s Paul Merage School of Business to Open Greater Irvine Chamber Business Outlook Event

Chris Schwarz, associate professor of finance and faculty director of the Center for Investment and Wealth Management at University of California, Irvine’s Paul Merage School of Business, will return for the second year as the opening speaker for the Greater Irvine Chamber’s Business Outlook Breakfast on Thursday, Jan. 9.

Schwarz’s research on the investment fund industry has been published in many leading academic and practitioner financial journals, cited in the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, and New York Times, and included in testimony before the U.S. Congress House Financial Services Committee.

Prior to arriving at UCI, Schwarz received a Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He was also a Visiting Doctoral Fellow at Yale University’s International Center of Finance and received a B.S. from Babson College.

Schwarz joins Business Outlook keynote speaker Chris Thornberg, Ph.D., a highly-regarded economist, author, and public speaker. Thornberg, the founding partner of Beacon Economics, is an expert in economic and revenue forecasting, regional economics, economic policy, and labor and real estate markets. He is the director of University of California, Riverside School of Business Centerfor Economic Forecasting and Development.

The 11th annual Business Outlook Breakfast will be held 7:30 – 10:00 a.m., at the Hotel Irvine, 17900 Jamboree Rd. Attendees will have the opportunity to gain insights on economic trends and network with C-suite executives.
