Ville Houttu, CEO of Vincit, has been elected to serve on the 2019-2020 Greater Irvine Chamber Board of Directors.

“The Expansion of Vincit to Irvine has proven to be a good move from the start. Among my first exploratory experiences in the city was with the Greater Irvine Chamber. As the partnership has continued to develop, it’s fitting and an honor that I am able to serve on the Chamber’s Board of Directors,” Houttu said. “I look forward to bringing the perspective of the digital technology industry to the Chamber’s governance.”

Houttu expanded his digital design and software development company from Finland to Irvine’s Spectrum Business Center – by way of Silicon Valley. After starting its U.S. venture in the Bay Area’s tech center, it was Irvine’s available highly-skilled talent pool, central location to neighboring markets, supportive business climate, office space infrastructure, and healthy work-live-play balance, which led Houttu to locate an office in Irvine. The company has more than 450 employees throughout its international locations.

Vincit was named among Inc. Magazine’s 2019 Best Workplaces, a 2016 Best Workplace in Europe by the Great Place to Work Institute, and earned a Gold recognition in 2018 for navigation and design by the American Advertising Federation. Houttu was named the Greater Irvine Chamber 2018Entrepreneur of the Year.

“Ville Houttu brings a unique perspective to the Greater Irvine Chamber’s diverse Board of Directors,” said Bryan Starr, president and CEO of the Greater Irvine Chamber. “As the leader of a technology company expanding to the U.S., Ville understands what makes Irvine the ideal environment where tech companies with a strong entrepreneurial spirit can achieve their goals and grow. We are proud to welcome Ville to serve on our Board of Directors alongside other leading Orange County executives.”

The addition of Houttu brings the Chamber Board to full strength at 30 directors.
