Ten-year-old Ryan Hickman of Ryan’s Recycling will be presented the Future Leader Award by Ware Disposal during the Greater Irvine Chamber’s inaugural 40 Under 40 reception held on Thursday, Oct. 3, 6 – 8 p.m., at the Marriott Irvine Spectrum, 7905 Irvine Center Dr.

Hickman has become an international icon for recycling awareness, and has recycled more than 600,000 cans and bottles since launching Ryan’s Recycling in 2012 when he was just three years old. Hickman is active in leading beach cleanup events in Orange County and travels globally speaking about recycling and saving the planet. He's a junior ambassador for Recycle Across America, Sand Cloud, Busch Systems, and Valet Living.

Hickman will be recognized following a presentation of more seasoned professionals under the age of 40 who are making strides in their industries and the business community in Orange County. An overwhelmingly positive response was received for peer nominations for the Chamber’s inaugural 40 Under 40 event.

Steve Churm, executive vice president, Public Affairs, FivePoint, and Charles Antis, CEO and founder, Antis Roofing and Waterproofing, will serve as program hosts.

Tickets for the 40 Under 40 reception are $85 for Greater Irvine Chamber members, and $115 for visitors. Sponsorships and tables are also available for purchase.
