Laura Perdew, senior director of communications, Greater Irvine Chamber, earned a Certificate in Nonprofit Organization Management from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute for Organization Management (IOM), the professional development program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation. Perdew now holds the professional distinction – indicated by the designatory letters “IOM” – which is recognized among chambers and associations.

“It’s a privilege to further my professional development with the support of the Greater Irvine Chamber,” Perdew said. “With the insights gained from IOM faculty and information shared among my chamber and association colleagues from across the nation, I’m better prepared to contribute to the Chamber and its mission.”

Perdew holds a B.A. in communications from California State University, Dominquez Hills, a B.A. in theatre from California State University, Fullerton, and certificates in employee management and marketing.

IOM educates participants on all facets of running a nonprofit organization. IOM course curriculum is taught by university professors, industry experts, and leading practitioners in the chamber and association industries, covering a wide range of topics such as strategic planning, advocacy, membership, finance, legal issues, technology, and more.
