No. 1 College for Transfer Rates in California, Irvine Valley College Graduates Students to UC, CSU, Ivy League Universities

Irvine Valley College (IVC) has the No. 1 transfer rate in California, as well as Orange County. Presenting 2,673 degrees during the school’s 34th Annual Commencement Ceremony in May, IVC has provided the graduates with the best opportunity to transfer from a two-year college to the university level.
Graduates of IVC’s class of 2019 have been accepted at each of the nine campuses of the University of California, including the University of California, Irvine. Many IVC students will also be heading off to Cal State universities, including San Diego State, Cal State Fullerton, Cal State Long Beach, Cal Poly Pomona, and San Luis Obispo. IVC students will also be transferring to USC, Chapman, Pepperdine, and many of the Ivy League Schools. This year’s transfers include Fordham University, American University, and Stanford.
Among the IVC graduates were 153 honors program students. Additionally, 66 students graduated summa cum laude with a grade point average of 4.0; 235 students graduated magna cum laude with a grade point average of 3.74-3.99; and 277 students graduated cum laude with a grade point average of 3.5-3.7.
Of the degrees awarded, 1,740 were Associate of Arts Degrees, 310 were Associate of Arts for Transfer Degrees, 173 were Associate of Science Degrees, and 450 were Associate of Science for Transfer Degrees.
Irvine Valley College, a Greater Irvine Chamber member since 1985, draws more than 15,000 students a year. In addition to transfer coursework, IVC offers over 80 associate degrees and over 70 career and technical certificate programs. The college’s co-curricular opportunities include an Honors Program, 13 athletic teams, and more than 30 student clubs.
