Tuesday, March 19, 2019
Destination Irvine has generated nearly $12 million in hotel revenue year-to-date for the 2018-2019 fiscal year, with four months still to go. The total revenue generated is a combination of direct group sales and marketing campaigns conducted by the Greater Irvine Chamber’s destination marketing organization.
Direct group sales efforts have brought in more than $5 million in revenue, and filled more than 22,800 room nights for meetings groups, sports events, leisure visitors, and business travelers.
Destination Irvine this year launched several marketing campaigns, a CBS social influencer and digital campaign, Orange County joint marketing Expedia campaigns, and for the first time, an Irvine-exclusive Expedia marketing campaign targeting leisure travelers. Combined, the marketing efforts have garnered close to 50 million impressions, and directly generated more than $6.5 million in hotel revenue.
“Destination Irvine’s sales success is a combination of desirable hotel product, the completion of the Orange County Great Park Sports Complex, and talented, knowledgeable sales directors,” said Wendy Haase, senior director, Destination Irvine. “This is our first time participating in an individual Expedia campaign. We are extremely pleased with the results and will be exploring opportunities to further enhance our investment for fiscal 2019-2020.”
Destination Irvine's goals are designed to enhance the economy of the city of Irvine through sustained growth in tourism spending, resulting in an increase in economic impact.
