Destination Irvine’s Leading Role in Hotel Partners’ Success

Wendy Haase, senior director of Destination Irvine, and colleagues AnaLaura Beccera, director of corporate sales, and Dave Lucey, director of sports sales, recently presented details to Irvine hotel directors and sales managers on Destination Irvine’s central role in promoting the city as a preferred overnight destination in Southern California for meeting groups, sports organizations, and business and leisure travelers.

The presentation provided insight on how the hoteliers can leverage their partnership with the organization’s sales team and utilize Destination Irvine resources when booking business at their properties, including meeting planner incentives and marketing materials like the annual Irvine Visitors Guide.

“This was an opportunity for new Irvine hoteliers to learn about the destination marketing organization and the opportunities we offer and resources we provide to bring overnight business to Irvine,” said Haase. “The presentation was well received and we look forward to hosting these insightful meetings bi-annually, with the next one being held in July.”

Irvine’s 21 hotels offer more than 4,700 guest rooms and nearly 191,000 square feet of meeting space for a variety of events.

The partnership between Irvine’s Hotel Improvement District and Destination Irvine, facilitates the organization’s goal to enhance the economy of the city of Irvine through sustained growth in tourism spending, resulting in an increase in economic impact for the betterment of the community.
