Thought leaders from the Greater Irvine Chamber and UCI Applied Innovation as well as others from healthcare and technology sectors in Orange County discussed strategic partnerships to an audience of business and community leaders during the 2019 Strategic Partnering and Sustained Growth/Innovation forum hosted by Executive Next Practices Institute on Jan. 24, at UCI Applied Innovation.

“The Greater Irvine Chamber is engaged in supporting the innovation ecosystem in impactful ways – research, activities, programs, and most importantly, collaboration with partners to advance our rate of innovation. We are proud to contribute to an ecosystem that fuels amazing levels of life science and technology innovation and investment,” said Linda DiMario, executive vice president, Greater Irvine Chamber.

Along with DiMario, the panel of speakers included Kate Klimow, chief administrative officer, director, external relations, UCI Applied Innovation; Feyzi Fathel, CEO, Corent Tech; Shawn Dougherty, COO and founder, mophie/EXOIO; and Debbie Nix, vice president, HR and Risk Management, Covenant Care.

A key topic discussed by the panel included stimulating and encouraging innovation within the culture and structure of enterprise, and how essential that is today and looking forward. Panelists also identified how the reluctance to take risks and make changes can influence a company’s ability to adapt and compete effectively; the need for companies to evaluate their policies, processes, products, and services as a matter of course; and building into their culture and expectations incremental changes to improve operating performance, profitability, and customer response.

The Executive Next Practices Institute is an established organization comprised of C-level and key functional leaders who meet to review emerging trends and “first look” innovations in business and leadership strategies.
