2019 John Colvin Memorial Scholarship Application Period Open

The Greater Irvine Chamber of Commerce, in coordination with the Colvin family, established the John Colvin Memorial Scholarship in honor of John Greg Colvin. Colvin was a long time-resident of Orange County, active Chamber member and chair of the Business Attraction & Retention Committee. He died in 2014 while training for an Ironman Triathlon. This year, the Chamber will award two scholarships of $2,500 each to two students who have been accepted to or are currently enrolled in a four-year degree program at a university or college with a campus in Irvine. Nearly 300 students from Orange County high schools and community colleges visited Irvine-based technology and life science companies for the second annual Irvine Career Discovery Day on Feb. 5, hosted by the Greater Irvine Chamber along with nonprofit partners Irvine Public Schools Foundation, Orange County United Way, and Vital Link. “Irvine Career Discovery Day is part of the Chamber’s workforce development initiative.
