Misty Bond, senior director of sales and marketing for Destination Irvine, has been appointed to California Travel Association’s United Voice grassroots advocacy group for 2023. The group advocates for issues important to the travel and tourism industry. Bond’s initial task is to convey to Assembly and Senate representatives for Irvine the importance of travel and the positive, direct economic impact tourism brings to communities.
Bond has also been appointed Destinations International Professional Development Committee and its Small Destination Organization Task Force for 2023. Bond will represent Irvine in February at the annual Marketing and Communications Summit in Norfolk, VA.
Bond also serves on the Orange County Sports Commission’s Community Development Task Force, helping to increase awareness of and participation in the Commission through educational and networking events and community outreach.
Destination Irvine—the destination marketing organization employed by the City of Irvine and a division of the Greater Irvine Chamber—was selected as one of 16 California destination marketing organizations (DMO) to attend Visit California’s Mexico Trade Retreat at the end of January. Representing Destination Irvine at the retreat to be held in San Miguel de Allende, Bond will develop and strengthen relationships with key Mexico partners. She will be joined by professionals from DMOs and California attractions, including Visit Mammoth, Visit Napa Valley, Go Tahoe, Love Beverly Hills, and Sea World, to name a few.
