Reema Zakharia joined the Greater Irvine Chamber in 2016, after relocating to California to work for Pacific Group, a privately held employee benefits brokerage that focuses solely on group health insurance, providing customized service, compliance and HR support, and much more, to small- and medium-sized businesses.
“When I moved out here, it was recommended that I ‘check out chambers,’ and I visited almost all of them. It was so easy to see that the Greater Irvine Chamber was so many steps ahead of the others—from structure, employees, events, personal growth opportunities, and the quality of people and businesses,” Zakharia recalled.
An account executive for Pacific Group, Zakharia’s primary reason for joining the Greater Irvine Chamber of Commerce was because she liked that there were various sub-committees in which she could become involved.
In just one year, Zakharia has immersed herself in numerous business development opportunities at the Greater Irvine Chamber. She is the membership chair for the Monday Leads Group and serves among a group of volunteer Ambassadors that represent the Greater Irvine Chamber out among the business community, as well as welcoming and orienting new members to the many benefits that are available to them.
“I had to start a book of business in a new geographic location from zero. I relocated not knowing anyone in OC. #NoFriends, #NoNetwork! Not only has the Chamber assisted me in creating and realizing new business opportunities, but I’ve met amazing leaders, mentors, and individuals that simply put, have been wonderful people to me,” she said.
A regular at many of the Chamber’s 400+ events annually, from business grand opening celebrations to Evening Business Exchanges and signature events such as Women of Influence, Reema is well-connected and respected in Irvine’s business community.
Congratulations, Reema Zakharia!
