Drive-In Swearing-In Ceremony for Irvine Mayor, Councilmembers will be December 8

The community is invited to attend the City of Irvine’s Drive-In Swearing-in Ceremony at 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 8, at the Orange County Great Park for its newly elected Mayor and City Councilmembers.

Councilmember Farrah N. Khan will be sworn in as Mayor, while Councilmember Mike Carroll, Councilmember-elect Tammy Kim, and Councilmember-elect Larry Agran will be sworn into office for their respective terms.   

“I am honored and proud to serve this nationally-renowned City as your Mayor,” stated Mayor-elect Farrah N. Khan. In its nearly 50 year history, the City of Irvine has been a City of vision and innovation, providing a community unlike any other for its residents, businesses, and visitors. I look forward to working with my City Council colleagues to address critical elements that enhance our City’s vitality including, the COVID-19 pandemic, economic recovery, sustainability, and resident and business engagement. I want to thank the community for their steadfast belief in my leadership.”    

Due to COVID-19 safety guidelines, attendance for the drive-in ceremony is limited, and guests must register in advance. The ceremony will take place in Parking Lot 2 at the Great Park, 8000 Great Park Blvd.

It will also be available to view live on the City’s YouTube channel and Facebook page. After the event, it will be available to watch on the City’s website and on ICTV on Cox Communications Channel 30 or on AT&T U-verse Channel 99.
