OC World Trade Week Exporter of the Year Nominees Announced

The 2018 Exporter of the Yearnominees have been named by the Greater Irvine Chamber. Ampronix, Inc.,Grandma Lucy's, Home Franchise Concepts, andNutrawise Health & Beauty Corporation will be featured during the Orange County World Trade Week Breakfast and Forum through promotional videos and recognition from the podium.

Nominated businesses have showcased successful export strategies representing best practices in business growth and increasing their sphere of influence. Nominations are under review by members of the District Export Council and Women in Trade Orange County. The 2018 Exporter of the Year to be announced during the OC World Trade Week event, to be held on Thursday, May 17, 7:00 – 11:00 a.m., at the Irvine Marriott, 18000 Von Karman Ave.

For over 35 years, Irvine-based Ampronix has led the way in medical imaging innovation and design. Ampronix has been active in its exporting efforts since the company’s inception in 1982. Ampronix has recently expanded its international exporting efforts with product availability in more than 130 countries. The company's international department has brought in over $3.5 million of Ampronix’s annual sales.

Grandma Lucy's is a family-owned and -operated pet food manufacturer in Orange County, specializing in freeze-dried pet products. Growing from one country in 2015 to three in 2016, they now export to 10 countries with 10 more projected by early 2019. 

Irvine-based Home Franchise Concepts, the parent company for Budget Blinds, Tailored Living, and Concrete Craft, has expanded exportation to Canada since 2006 and as of 2016 has added territories in Mexico.

With a production facility in Irvine, Nutrawise is a manufacturer of high-quality dietary supplements under the youtheory brand and is sold in retail establishments across the United States and Europe, including the Costco Wholesale warehouses in the UK, Spain, Iceland, France, and other European countries, resulting in gross sales of well over a million dollars in the last 12 months.

“We want to recognize companies that have a really good export story to tell,” said Linda DiMario, executive vice president of the Greater Irvine Chamber. “These nominees made the decision to expand their markets and grow their sales by exporting. It’s all about the experience - what they learned and how they did it – that’s what our attendees want to know.”

OC World Trade Week keynote speaker will be Masimo founder, chairman, and CEO Joe Kiani. Kiani leads one of the world’s most admired global medical technology innovation companies, and is a convention-breaking maverick as an inventor of world-changing noninvasive patient monitoring devices. As the head of Masimo, he has been a beacon for patient safety and innovation in healthcare for more than 25 years. He founded the Patient Safety Movement Foundation in 2012 and the World Patient Safety, Science & Technology Summit. Kiani and Masimo have helped to solve the "unsolvable" problems plaguing patient monitoring through significant inventions with more than 600 issued and pending patents worldwide.

OC World Trade Week will also feature an International Trade Expo and an Export Success Stories panel, which this year includes executives from TS Pharma Inc., NeoMedix Corporation, and Toshiba, Electronic Imaging Division, who will share details of their company experience with exporting their products around the globe.

First held in 2015, the Greater Irvine Chamber’s Orange County World Trade Week (OCWTW) Breakfast and Forum brings together hundreds of professionals from Orange County’s International-American chambers and business associations, public sector and private trade organizations, and the business community to grow awareness of the impact of international trade and export in Orange County
