Hong Kong Delegation Visits Irvine

The Greater Irvine Chamber, in collaboration with UCI Beall Applied Innovation and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), hosted a delegation of executives from 25 company executives from Hong Kong for roundtable discussions at the Cove @ UCI Beall Applied Innovation, on Sept. 19. The Chamber’s Irvine Ready! team of experts responded to the call to meet with these companies and welcome them to Irvine.
“We are fortunate to partner with these organizations to showcase the strength of our innovation ecosystem and introduce the scope of resources and talent available in Irvine/Orange County. This was an opportunity to encourage their consideration of our area for successful expansion to the U.S.,” said Linda DiMario, executive vice president, Greater Irvine Chamber.
The Hong Kong delegation represented a variety of technology and healthcare companies. Speakers from UCI, UCI Beall Applied Innovation, OCTANe, SBDC and the Chamber touted the benefits of doing business here. Dr. Patrick Lau, deputy executive director, HKTDC, said southern California is an ideal place for new tech companies to do business because the access to minds and capital.

In addition to their visit to Irvine, the delegation attended the Think Asia Think Hong Kong conference in Los Angeles.
