Destination Irvine Attracts International Travel Buyers at Leading US Travel Trade Show

The Greater Irvine Chamber’s  destination marketing team continues to promote the City of  Irvine to travel buyers from around the world.

Wendy Haase, senior director of Destination Irvine, and AnaLaura Becerra, director of corporate sales for the organization, along with four hotel partners, promoted Irvine as a destination to 100 interested international travel buyers this month at IPW, the U.S Travel Association’s leading international inbound travel trade show.

As part of the trade show, the Destination Irvine team hosted more than two dozen journalists and buyers for a sightseeing tour that included a Pedego Electric Bike  ride on the Jeffrey Open Space Trail ending at the Orange County Great Park, showcasing Irvine’s preserved open space, and the region’s premier outdoor agriculture, sports, and arts complex.

The Destination Irvine team also attended a media marketplace where they promoted the city as a top California and U.S. destination to travel journalists from around the globe during pre-scheduled appointments.

IPW is the country’s premier travel trade show, driving $4.7 billion in future travel to the United States. U.S. travel exhibitors connect with travel buyers and media from more than 70 countries to promote their products, negotiate future business, and build relationships. IPW secures America’s position as a foremost global travel destination by increasing international visitation and showing the world the best of what the U.S. has to offer.

Attendees of IPW include 1,300 international and domestic buyers. Approximately 1,200 U.S. travel organizations attend from every region of the U.S., and more than 500 travel journalists from around the globe. The travel trade show attracts 8.8 million additional international visitors to the U.S. who spend $28 billion.
