Ray Wirta Retiring as Corporate President of the Irvine Company

Ray Wirta is retiring from the Irvine Company after a distinguished nine-year career of service as CorporatePresident.
“Ray Wirta has served as a visionary leader, helping to guide the Irvine Company to extraordinary success in the development of Irvine. He has been a key figure of the Irvine Company’s executive team that has positioned the city as a model community, respected worldwide,” said Bryan Starr, president and CEO, Greater Irvine Chamber. “On behalf of the Chamber and its Board of Directors, I congratulate Ray on his impressive career and contributions to our community.”
Wirta’s responsibilities have included serving on the Irvine Company’s Office of the Chairman along with Chairman Donald Bren and other key company executives.
As President, Wirta has guided and overseen the steady growth and management of a large real estate portfolio comprised of office, retail, resort, and apartment properties.
“This has been the business experience of my life. I was given the opportunity to serve with the finest real estate talent in the world and guided by a chairman with a vision and energy to execute the Master Plan that this company created over 60 years ago. The Irvine Company is in great condition with a bright future ahead,” Wirta said.
In recognizing Wirta’s announcement, Irvine Company Chairman Donald Bren commented, “Ray has provided steady and strategic guidance to the Irvine Company during a tremendous period of growth. I thank him for his dedication and his friendship and I wish him well in his retirement from the Company.”
