Wednesday, March 13, 2019
For exemplary professionalism and commitment to providing leadership within her community, Susan DeGrassi, director of cause, Antis Roofing and Waterproofing, has been named the Greater Irvine Chamber 2019 Woman of Influence. DeGrassi was formally recognized with the inaugural award in front of a sell-out crowd at the sixth-annual Women of Influence event on March 8.
“I truly appreciate the recognition by the Greater Irvine Chamber as this year’s Woman of Influence. I value the many mentors I’ve had during my career, and that I’ve played a part in using my gifts and resources to help guide and serve others. It is amazing to me that it is now my full time job to use the resources Antis and I have, and connect with others, all with the goal of making our world a better place,” DeGrassi said.
Women of Influence, sponsored by Pacific Western Bank, featured a keynote address by Gina Osborn, former FBI Special Agent and current president of G-Girl Productions. Osborn spoke about “owning her identity” throughout her 28-year career in the U.S. Army as a counterintelligence special agent, and how it led to much of her success.
More than 450 professional women, and several men, also heard from speaker Marisa Wayne, co-founder of boutique fitness studio GritCycle and founding member of the John Wayne Cancer Foundation. Wayne detailed her upbringing as the daughter of beloved actor John Wayne, explaining how she had to design her own path in choosing a career.
Attendees had the opportunity to network during a reception, featuring Thomson and Scott Champagne, make donations benefiting Irvine Public Schools Foundation, and shop at the Gorjana jewelry pop-up station.
A perennial favorite, Kim Shepherd, author and former CEO of Decision Toolbox, served as master of ceremonies for the event.
