Irvine Councilmember Anthony Kuo to Address Government Affairs Committee

Newly-elected Irvine City Councilmember Anthony Kuo will address business and community leaders during the Greater Irvine Chamber Government Affairs committee meeting on Thursday, March 7, 8 – 9:30 a.m.
Kuo was elected to the Irvine City Council in 2018, bringing nearly eight years of experience as a planning commissioner for the city, including four consecutive terms as chairman. During that time, he also served on the city’s Task Force on Housing Needs for the Developmentally Disabled and the Ad Hoc Committee on Veterans Affordable Housing. He is a graduate of the Irvine Community Police Academy.
In addition to representing the City of Irvine on the Irvine Barclay Theatre, Irvine Community Land Trust, and San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary Boards of Directors, Kuo is a member of the Liaison and Coordinating Committees for both the Irvine Unified School District and Tustin Unified School District.
Kuo is the first member of the Irvine City Council to have grown up in Irvine, and is a product of Irvine’s public schools, attending Alderwood Basics Plus, Lakeside Middle School, Woodbridge High School, and University High School.
Professionally, Anthony helps direct efforts in the Office of the Orange County Auditor-Controller to expand transparency in government, accountability over public finances, and to increase taxpayer engagement.?
In the community, Kuo serves on the Board of Directors of the Irvine Children’s Fund, Advisory Boards for Crime Survivors, and Brandman University’s School of Business and Professional Studies. He previously served in board leadership roles for the Brigham Young University Management Society of Orange County, Raise Foundation of Orange County, Irvine Valley College Foundation, and the Exchange Club of Irvine.
